Privacy
This product asks you unusually personal questions — who you have wanted, what drew you in, what did not work. We think you are owed a plain account of what happens to those answers.

What we collect
Your answers. Everything you type or speak during the questionnaire, and the structured profile built from it.
Your email address, when you join the waiting list or ask for your portrait.
Payment confirmation from Stripe. We receive whether a payment succeeded — never your card number.
We do not ask for your name, your address, or the name of any real person, and we would rather you did not provide them.
Why, and on what basis
To produce and deliver the portrait you asked for — performance of our contract with you.
To email your copy and to tell you once, when the product opens — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To send you occasional updates about KNOWN — only if you ticked the box asking for them. It is never ticked for you, it is never required to receive your portrait, and every one of those emails carries a link that stops them for good.
To keep the service working and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in running it.
We do not sell your data, we show you no advertising, and we do not use your answers to train any AI model. If you asked for updates, they come from us and go nowhere else.
Who else sees it
Your answers are sent to the following processors, only to the extent needed to produce the result:
- —OpenAI, L.L.C. — generates the portrait and the report (United States)
- —Neon, Inc. — stores your session (European Union (Frankfurt))
- —Vercel, Inc. — hosts the site and counts page views (United States and European Union)
- —Stripe, Inc. — processes payment (United States and European Union)
- —Resend, Inc. — delivers your code and your portrait by email (United States)
Some are outside the UK and EU, so your data is transferred internationally. Those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses adopted for that purpose.
How long we keep it
Sessions are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Waiting-list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or the list is retired.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@knownportrait.com and we will act within one month.
Deletion is absolute: if you ask, the session and everything generated from it is removed. You do not have to give a reason.
If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or to your own national data protection authority.
Cookies
We set no advertising or analytics cookies. Your session is kept in your browser’s local storage so you can close the tab and come back to where you were. Clearing your browser data removes it.
